The West High Alumni Association (WHAA) announced today the West High Class of 2019 recipients of the Graduating Seniors Scholarship Program. Through the generous support of West High alumni and other donors, the Alumni Association awarded nearly $80,000 in scholarships to the Class of 2019.

This year, the Alumni Association awarded 26 scholarships through the Graduating Seniors Scholarship Program, in addition to two $500 scholarships awarded to the 2018 Homecoming Royalty.

This year’s class of Graduating Seniors Scholarship recipients is one of the Alumni Association’s most diverse groups to-date. 80 percent of scholarship recipients are first-generation college students.

Compared to the previous year, the Alumni Association increased the average scholarship award by 85 percent to adjust for changes and increases in college tuition.
