One of the primary goals of the West High Alumni Association is to help ensure as many graduating West High students as possible have the opportunity to further their education. Our focus is providing scholarships to students who demonstrate West High involvement, desire to obtain an education and financial need.

Currently, the Alumni Association awards more than 40 scholarships each year to graduating seniors. To-date, we have given more than $1.3 million in scholarship funds.

Homecoming is a long-standing tradition that welcomes West High alumni, fans, family and the community to West High to celebrate the school’s nearly 130 years of history and heritage.
Homecoming Royalty in particular is an honored tradition of the West High Homecoming celebration. While the Royalty nomination and selection process has evolved over the years, Homecoming Royalty is an opportunity to showcase and recognize students at who have demonstrated their commitment to representing West High.
The Homecoming Royalty Court is comprised of five (5) members of the class of 2020 who shall represent the school and student body at various campus and community events throughout Homecoming Week. The Court is chosen by members of the West High Alumni Association based off their application and a brief interview that will take place during Homecoming Week. Students selected to be part of the Homecoming Royalty Court will each receive a $500 grant to help them pursue their educational goals.
The deadline to apply is Thursday, Sept. 5.
WHAA Graduating Senior Scholarships
Each year, the West High Alumni Association aims to help graduating West High seniors pursue their higher education goals.
The number of scholarships awarded each year varies, but are awarded to deserving West High seniors who are committed to pursuing a college education and demonstrate financial need.
Applications for incoming college freshman for the 2020-2021 academic year (West High Class of 2020) will open in early 2020.
West High Alumni Association Union Scholarship
In partnership with the A. Ray Olpin Union at the University of Utah, the West High Alumni Association (WHAA) will be awarding two (2) scholarships of $5,000 for the 2019-2020 school year.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Utah who are also graduates of West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Applications are now closed. The deadline to apply was Friday, February 15, 2019.
